The List of Adrian Messenger (29-May-1963)
Director: John Huston Writers: Philip MacDonald; Anthony Veiller Keywords: Mystery
REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 14-Feb-2007) This film, directed by the excellent late, great film director, John Houston, is a "sleeper" that should be brought to the attention of individuals throughout the world who appreciate this type of film drama and recognize those fine and popular actors and actresses who took time to re-create a story, originally written by Phillip MacDonald. It was brilliant in its theme and the production was very good for B&W in the sixties on probably a very low budget. George C. Scott, in one of his beginning roles as a film actor, was SUPERB. No one truly failed in this film. It's only, possibly, that the current film preservation experts have not, or have been unable, for one reason or another, to commit this unique and suspenseful motion picture to DVD format for us, and many others, in future generations, to enjoy once and again.
