CAST REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 23-Jan-2007) Another one of those films, so strangely weird and with a storyline more effective than Prozac, yet completely fascinating to watch. Big John, hardly an Olivier or Gielgud at anytime, seems to have is tongue so far imbedded into his ckeek here, he is in danger of serious damage to his jaw. He plays an American flying ace, whose love interest is a Russian counterpart, played by (of all people!!) Janet Leigh. Janet is about as natural playing this role as, say, Yakov Smirnoff playing Jed or Jethro in a remake of the "Beverly Hillbillies." During the film's hijinks, they land, in separate fighter craft, at a Russian air base. Big John departs his plane and runs to Janet's, while a group of armed Russian soldiers launch a hail of bullets at him as he flees across the tramac. Naturally they don't hit anything. He jumps into Janet's plane and she takes-off, as they are pursued by a horde of Russian fighter craft. (They are fleeing to Vienna!!) As she gets her plane aloft, Janet asks John what she soulh do; honestly..again, honestly, he tells her to "TURN RIGHT." This must work, for in the next scene, they are together in a posh restaurant (apparently in Vienna), in dress togs, with Janet eating a bigger steak than we might find Hoss enjoying on the Ponderosa. As she takes a bite, Janet says that she'd like for the time to come when her country would be more interested in this (i.e.steaks) than guns (remember, she is a Cold War Russkie military officer). Big John apparently agrees, leans over and gives her a big kiss, as the flick ends. Films arent any more fascinating than this one.
