CAST REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 25-Sep-2006) I saw this movie in the theatre in 1964 as a seven year old child and was captivated. The movie is dated but is still entertaining. The acting, especially Lionel Jeffries as Cavor, is excellent. The special effects, by Ray Harryhausen, are classic, but of course nothing like what we have now. Nevertheless, the story, by H.G. Wells, is wonderful, and prophetic. It was way ahead of its time. There is also a lesson. Imagine that. Relax, suspend your disbelief, get rid of your expectations, be a kid, turn out the lights, sit down with a bowl of popcorn, and enjoy this film for what it was. Let the magic of this film take you back to a time before computers, a time of innocence. When times were simpler and the moon was a mystery. A time of wonder.
