REVIEWS Review by Marc (posted on 26-Jul-2007) I caught a rerun of this 2001 movie last evening on Bravo. For a Canadian movie, it's not bad. I've seen worse. The storyline captured my attention (and not just because of the nude scenes). Basically, we get an inside look of a particular hotel room within the Century Hotel over an eighty year span. The stories of its occupants lives at varying moments throughout almost a century are interesting and the script has some good moments, although it is lacking in overall creativity. The acting is OK (no oscar winning performance here). There is good continuity in the film and attention is paid to details (like making sure the hotel room looks run down over the years). Also, the flashbacks are well done and no one gets lost viewing the movie. Obviously, it is a low budget film but still, it is worth seeing. A more recent comparison would be Stephen Kings new thriller 1408. In this movie, room 1408 of a prominent New-york Hotel is posessed. Although Century Hotel is not a horror flick like 1408, it has the feel of a film noir.
