August Rush (20-Oct-2007)
Director: Kirsten Sheridan Writers: Nick Castle; Paul Castro; James V. Hart Keywords: Drama, New York, Harlem A supposedly-orphaned child uses his natural musical talent to divine the whereabouts of his biological family.
ABSTRACT Lyla Novacek is a standout cellist; Louis Connelly is a similarly talented guitarist. Two musicians come together over their shared love of music, prducing a child surreptitiously given to an orphanage by Lyla's father out of worry over a possible adverse effect on her career. Eleven years on, Evan, now a young orphan taken by a belief that his parents are still alive, is taken in by a man calling himself "Wizard" who exploits his natural musical abilities for cash busking on the streets of New York City, ultimately rebelling against his nefarious caretaker and finding his way back to his biological parents through a whirlwind journey taking him to the New York Philharmonic under the assumed name "August Rush".
