REVIEWS

Review by anonymous (posted on 8-Nov-2006)

This is a film for Hollywood insiders, and although the performances by Fraser and McKellen are wonderful and insightful, the plot focuses on the abnormal behavior of a film pioneer long forgotten who made a ripple in the film industry in the 30's. Not many people in Waterloo, Iowa are going to flock to see this one, even though they might gain some insight into the post industrial revolution childhood of Britain's Angst generations. Nonetheless, any film with McKellen can't be all bad, and the supporting performances are worth the while as well.
