CAST REVIEWS Review by John (posted on 20-Dec-2007) Often given a bad wrap. The Gangs All Here is a fun romp that optimizes the World War Two era.The fashions and the music and the dialog are so over the top, not to mention Busbey Berkley's direction. All the actors are having such a good time in this film. Alice Faye never looked or sounded this good and Carmen Miranda is at her zaniest. Though it may seem that Berkley had finally run out of ideas for the dance sequences, at a closer look they are quite ingenious and colorful, and a bit ahead of the times. This is a movie to sit back ,relax and enjoy.Personally, watching this film makes me wish I was there at the time. Though it was war time I'm sure those who viewed it in 1942 were able to escape to a world of no worry. Isn't that what movies were once about?
