ABSTRACT An overly-ambitious film crew led by embattled filmmaker Carl Denham looking to produce the next great epic at the height of the Great Depression heads to the remote Skull Island aboard the SS Venture with leading lady Ann Darrow in tow, ignoring repeated warnings about trouble ahead and an arrest warrant for Denham as they look to explore the secluded locale. Attacked by angry natives almost immediately after setting foot on the island, the crew lose the beautiful Ann to the tribe as part of a planned sacrifice to a 25-foot tall gorilla they call "Kong", setting the stage for a peculiar love story between woman and infatuated beast ultimately ending with an all-too-familiar final confrontation at the top of New York City's Empire State Building.
