CAST REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 25-Oct-2006) True to the Damon Runyon Genre of urban bookies, chorus cuties and gansters this film does not disappoint in its well written script. The talents of supporting cast members only enhance the fine work of Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball. The story line could be updated with minor alterations for current taste to retell Runyon's tragic love story about a social climbing chanteuse and her long suffering Little Pinks. Agnes Moorehead shines and the avid film fan will find familiar faces in the crowd of extras that only adds to the delight of this picture. Lucille plays the hardboiled Miss Lyons in a way that those familiar with her Lucy role on television will discover Miss Ball is an actress of considerable depth. Fonda is as brilliant as the busboy. His youth works in this part and he already shows the ability that made him a household name. This movie is a must see for fans of both actors and for those of us who enjoy this genre of film
