CAST REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 5-Mar-2006) This is one of my all
time favorite bio-pics of the era. And as usually happened a lot of the
real biography of Marilyn Miller was not dealt with. The movie shines
in recreating the wonderful songs of that period - especially the
Zigfield numbers- in which June and Gordon shone. Ray Bolger, as
always, supplied comedy and his special dance abilities. This movie was
interesting in that unlike other movies of the time did not have a
happy ending. The "silver lining" was not that easy to capture. June
Haver was great in the role -although I understand that the real Marily
Miller was anything but the sweet thing portrayed in this film. None
the less great songs like the title number, "Sunny", "Dancing in the
Dark" and others makes the movie quite enjoyable. It is out on VHS
