CAST REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 10-Aug-2006) Just saw this movie on TV and never
heard of it before. - What a treat, even though I missed the beginning,
but it was wonderful! So wonderfully sinister. Claire plays a wanton,
amoral woman who truly aspires to "be good" and goes through all the
motions, including acquiring a respectable high-society fiancee who
will guide her on the path to goodness. But, as fate would have it, her
animal attraction to her sister's new-found (but criminal) spouse is
too much for her to overcome. - She and he become bewitched with an
evil chemistry and, - well, watch the film. Golly, I wish TCM would let
us know when this one is on again. It is certainly worth taping. - Nice
supporting actors too, including, I think, Philip Terry, Joan
Crawford's ex, as the erstwhile hero that cannot seduce Claire from her
urges. Enjoy!
