His poker buddy Felix Unger, a hypochondriac neat freak, separates from his wife and makes a couple of half-hearted attempts at suicide. Oscar offers to share the apartment with the still emotionally-fragile Felix, but his obsessive-compulsive cleaning and habits tests their friendship. Received Oscar nominations for Best Screenplay Adaptation and Best Editing. Spun off into a popular television show.
