Stranger on the Third Floor (16-Aug-1940)
Director: Boris Ingster Writer: Frank Partos Musical Score by: Roy Webb Producer: Lee Marcus Keywords: Drama, Murder Witness, Film Noir A newspaper reporter's testimony is key to sending a man to the electric chair, the trial based entirely on circumstantial evidence. Then a nearly identical murder occurs and the reporter is now the prime suspect. Well-produced and acted B-movie which rises above its station; considered (perhaps erroneously) by some critics as the earliest film noir.
