REVIEWS Review by Jerry Arico (posted on 7-Aug-2009) Although this is a low budget film, it was made many years ago and one of Margot Kidder's first. It begins as Margot's character having an identical twin sister....the kicker is, they were siamese twins/conjoined at birth. The film goes on in the usual fashion of "Who's the good twin, and Who's the bad twin", however, they are separated successfully and one of the FIRST set of conjoined twins to be surgically parted sucsessfully. Their names your asking are elogant, Danielle and Dominique. The mystery in this suspense thriller is that the "Evil twin", makes her rounds either killing people or doing dastardly crimes without ever getting caught. Placing the blame on the "Good Twin", however the good twin cannot proclaim her innocence because Dominique who is the evil twin always seems to escape the forces of the law. She is either inexplicably vanishing and even in one scene there is a neighbor who happens to witness Dominique murdering a vistor seen through an apartment accross the other building. The neighbor convinces the police to pursue this murder and gets them involved in proving that Danielle is the murderer. Ensuing the crime, she has calls the police, meets them at Danielle's door and SWEARS to the police that she saw a man murdered in that very apartment, but they cannot find the body. Oddly enough their is a birthday cake in the fridge, and for some odd reason the neighbor opens the refridgerator and finds the birthday cake which reads, Happy Birthday Dominique and Danielle, proving that there must be another person who's birthday is on the same day and eagerly takes the cake over to the police to show them the cake and clumsily drops the cake, ruining the Happy Birthday greeting, Hence she cannot prove that there was anyone in that apartment but just one person. I initially saw this when I was extremely young and thought it was brilliant, and never saw it again until about a year ago and thought it was NOT a winner at all. BUT, I would recommend it to those who like suspense movies, because it will keep you guessing until the final dilemma.
