House of Wax (10-Apr-1953)
Director: André de Toth Writers: Crane Wilbur; Charles Belden Music by: David Buttolph Producer: Bryan Foy Keywords: Horror, 3D, Wax Museum A sculptor for a turn-of-the-century wax museum presumably dies trying to save his creations, the fire set for insurance money. Years later he resurfaces physically disfigured, opening a new museum; the wax figures seem awfully uncanny. One of the first early 3D films, in the era where theatergoers were distracted by the newfangled television. This film marks Vincent Price's start as horror icon. Remake of Michael Curtiz' Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933).
