ABSTRACT Remake of The Ladykillers (1955). Eccentric, charismatic Southern professor Goldthwait Higginson Dorr endeavors to rob a riverboat casino, assembling an offbeat crew of experts and henchmen to assist in carrying out his plot. Every good conspiracy needs a cover, of course, and to that end, Goldthwait and crew assume the identities of a "medieval music ensemble" to fall in the good graces of Marva Munson, an older God-fearing woman looking to rent out a spare room in her house. Complications arise when Marva grows wise to the crew's intentions, prompting Goldthwait to devise a plan to silence her for good.
