ABSTRACT
Inspired by the real-life legend of the "dybbuk box", The Possession centers on Em, a young girl and daughter to recently-divorced couple Clyde and Stephanie, as she purchases a strange antique box marked with Hebrew inscriptions at a yard sale and subsequently falls victim to an ancient curse. Terrified by his daughter's increasingly antisocial behavior and an alarming bevy of happenings seemingly attached to her changed disposition, Clyde seeks the assistance of his ex-wife, a professor, and a Jewish man in Brooklyn, working in desperation to reverse the hex placed on his offspring before it consumes her entirely.
