This film is a must see. The Scott Joplin story is a very important one to american history. As the celebrated "King of Rag Time" Joplin made great strides in music history, Actor Billy Dee Williams was wonderful as he portrayed Joplin with compassion, and strength. Clifton Davis played Louis Chovan who's one composition was written by Joplin (the only black musician who wrote music in their fold) had me in tears with his performance which was moving and sad. I have no idea why this film is not shown on television more often. It is excellent. and should be remade for today's audience
