Society of the 25th century values conformity. Robert Duvall, designated THX 1138, shares domicile with LUH 3417. She goes off her medication, and replaces his with placebos. The two have forbidden sexual relations; once discovered, both are imprisoned. Somewhat tedious remake of one of Lucas' student short films. Re-released on DVD with changes by Lucas (a very bad habit of his). Received a Hugo nomination for Best Dramatic Presentation.
