The secretary of a radio mystery series host hangs herself -- though not so, a fact revealed in the film's opening moments. Despite the premise, a suspenseful mystery thriller with perhaps too many plot twists and a few plot holes. Outstanding cast, striking cinematography, overall quite stylish. The skill of director Michael Curtiz more than makes up for whatever flaws may be present.
