Epic cinematic adaptation of a 1917 Edgar Rice Burroughs novel tells the tale of former Confederate Army captain John Carter's very first interplanetary adventure.

ABSTRACT
Ambitious and daring in its scope and with a budget estimated by some to run as high as $350,000,000, Disney epic John Carter tells the tale of its eponymous character's adventures from Civil War-era America all the way to a fictional alternate version of Mars known as Barsoom and populated by twelve-foot-tall barbarians within the frame of his funeral. Although produced with an aforementioned production and advertising budget rivaling the gross domestic product of Micronesia, John Carter was largely panned by critics for its perceived confusing and meandering plot upon its release, and notched lackluster box office numbers that ultimately cemented its place near the top of Hollywood's list of its worst flops of all time.
