REVIEWS Review by Kaye Harrold (posted on 27-Jan-2009) The storyline gave a different twist and almost innocent look on things. It showed, (very thoroughly through Tim Daly's imagery) how someone's dark, demonic past which could have turned him evil for life, could be changed by the human kindness of a woman. Naomi Watts, brought a sense of balance to her character; she was convicted in her faith, but the conflict between that and her raw need of being a woman was truly shown on screen. The movie portrayed the story excellently, due to having such a well meshed and talented acting cast. Tim Daly and Naomi Watts- what chemistry! The Carradine Brothers- always a delight to see either on screen as well. They were the substance, the "meat" of the movie.
Review by Kris Donahue (posted on 26-Jul-2009) Very well developed characters and a surprise performance from Tim Daly. The plot revolves around a "plain" woman who takes in an injured gunman and nurses him back to health. Unfortunately, she is forced to decide between her developing feelings and the rigidity of her religious beliefs. Tim Daly as the gunman shows the range of his feelings as he gains respect and ultimately love for this woman while continuing to fight the demons of his past. Miss Watts is luminous as the widow who must make the difficult decision. I would strongly recommend this movie -- even the setting is beautiful although I was shocked that it was filmed in Australia and not Montana as I had assumed!
