REVIEWS

Review by Ray Studholme (posted on 6-May-2009)

Dom Deluise in my opinion should have been awarded an Oscar for his role as Marlon in this film. From the moment Burt [Sonny] wakes up in hospital and up until the two male nurses cart Marlon off has got to be one of the all time great comedy parts ever on film. This is one of those movies, however many times you see it, although it may be classed as a slightly darker comedy, will always makes you laugh. I take my hat off to Burt Reynolds and cast for bringing together such a fine film. As for the late great Dom Deluise, I thank him for all the joy, love and laughter he has given to me and my family over the years, and also all his many many fans worldwide. What Burt Reynolds said about his friend Dom, when your with him, "he makes you feel good"! Well that`s just what you get from him on the screen also, no matter what part he has played, the warmth, love, joy, laughter and magic just shines through. Every movie with Dom Deluise in is special. Love them all! However, the part he played as "Marlon" with Burt Reynolds as "Sonny" in "The End" has got to be my all time fav. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Dom's loved ones at this sad time.
