ABSTRACT
Joseph Smith, an ex-Royal marine traumatized by a tour of duty in Afghanistan, returns home to Great Britain without a home nor steady source of income. After he is brutally beaten by a gang of men on a London street corner one night, Joseph assumes the identity of "Joey Jones", a do-gooder who seeks the aid of a young nun as he attempts to balance his temptations to exact revenge for a beloved friend's murder with his desires to keep his shaky head above water.
