Passport to Pimlico (26-Apr-1949)
Director: Henry Cornelius Writer: T. E. B. Clarke Keywords: Comedy An unexploded bomb left over from WWII accidentally detonates in Pimlico, a small neighborhood of London, uncovering a valuable treasure trove dating back centuries. A royal charter revealed at the same time shows the region technically part of Burgundy and not England, a situation the residents take up with aplomb but the British government views dimly. Comic satire which is enjoyable but quite dated. Received an Oscar nomination for Best Story and Screenplay.
