REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 4-Jul-2006) Some of the scenes in this movie
was shot in my neighborhood; 139th. Street, Frederick Douglass JHS, and
the Lenox Ave playground. I must have been around 16 or 17 years old at
the time. I was approached to play a part playing basketball in the
school yard of Fredrick Douglass JHS but was not chosen because I was
too short. When I saw the movie back in 1964, there was a cameo of me
walking up 139th. St. with a stick in my hand tapping on the school
yard fence (I had quit a few nicknames; Stick Man, June Bug, etc.) I saw
the film again on Monday 07/03/06. It brought back lots of memories of
my past growing up in Harlem in those days. I was still in the movie
but my cameo was cut down to a few seconds. I will try to purchase the
film so I can get a better look at myself and my old neighborhood. I
enjoyed the movie very much and give it 4 stars.
