ABSTRACT Second sequel to Transformers (2007). When a Cybertronian spacecraft capable of bringing about an end to the Autobot-Decepticon conflict crashes on the dark side of the Moon in 1961, then-President John F. Kennedy authorizes the Apollo 11 mission to cover up the spacecraft's existence. Fifty-one years later, however, Optimus Prime discovers an engine part from the Cybertronians' spacecraft whilst working with the American government in Chernobyl, kicking off a race with the Decepticons to discern the whereabouts of the presumably-intact vessel and investigate its technology. Nominated for Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Mixing.
