REVIEWS Review by Nils Stegemann (posted on 5-Nov-2007) "Hustle" is one of the last films by director Robert Aldrich.
He made such classics as "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte" and "Kiss me Deadly".
This film has an exiting cast, and the achtors are worth to see: Burt Reynolds, Catherine Deneuve (in one of her less English-spoken films), Eddie Albert, Paul Winfield, and Ben Johnson. But in my opinion, the best performance gives Eileen Brennan as the mother of a young dead girl. Brennan's way of acting in this film is very moving and very convincing.
The story of the movie - Reynolds plays a cop who must clarify the murder of the young girl - is okay, but the actors and the setting are more interesting.
Ronert Aldrich's film is not his best, but worth to see, including Eileen Brennan's memorable performance.
