The Thrill of It All (17-Jul-1963)
Director: Norman Jewison Writers: Larry Gelbart; Carl Reiner Music by: Frank De Vol Producers: Ross Hunter; Martin Melcher Keywords: Romantic Comedy Doris Day plays the perky wife of a suburban Ob/Gyn, bored with PTA meetings and housework; at a dinner party she is offered the role of pitchwoman for Happy Soap, a detergent. This turns her into an overnight star with a six-figure salary, much to the chagrin of her husband. Good chemistry between Day and Garner, tight script even if the plot is a bit sexist. Doris Day shines in this film, often overlooked.
