REVIEWS Review by Linda Hoggarth (posted on 21-Aug-2007) Gypsy is a marvel to the musical lovers' eyes. As usual, Rosalind Russell does not disappoint at all as Rose, the ambition-driving stage mother who never made it in the big time herself and was determined to make sure her girls were stars at the cost of everything and anything else. She makes every line her own and when Rosalind gives you that withering look, you feel it down into your soul. Although Natalie Wood is no singer, she is beautiful and an excellent actress and convinces you that the desperation to "make it in show business" during the vaudeville and burlesque days was palpable. Enjoy!
