CAST REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 17-May-2006) I saw this film for the first
time recently. I love film noir and this is a fine example. I believe
this has to be one of John Garfield's greatest roles. He could pull off
the rough around the edges but heart of gold character better than
anyone in Hollywood. He shows class and integrity throughout the film.
Walter Brennan has always been a favorite of mine, but he really
deserved an Oscar for this performance. Geraldine Fitzgerald was also
top rate in this film. I would recommend this film to anyone who loves
film noir. Turner Classic Movies has a regular time slot for film noir
on Saturday mornings.
