Charlie Chan in Panama (1-Mar-1940)
Director: Norman Foster Writers: John Larkin; Lester Ziffren Music: Samuel Kaylin Keywords: Mystery, Charlie Chan, Panama Charlie Chan is undercover in Panama City as Fu Yuen, a shopkeeper selling Panama hats (naturally, as it is part of Chan's normal attire). American agent Godley dies abruptly in Chan's shop after inhaling from a poison cigarette; Godley was hunting "Ryner", an elusive spy intent on sabotage. A good installment in the series, though essentially a remake of Marie Galante (1934), which is itself based on Jacques Deval's novel.
