AMC's live performances gained notoriety through Eitzel's volatile relationship to his audience and his public confrontations with his alcohol problem -- a struggle that has inspired much of his writing.
In 1995 AMC finally disbanded and Eitzel continued with a solo career that had begun in 1991 with the release of Songs of Love.
