In 1954, Nelson appeared on CBS's anthology show Climax!, in an episode based on Ian Fleming's Casino Royale. But since James Bond wasn't yet an icon, CBS tinkered with the book -- Nelson's 007 was thoroughly American, "Jimmy Bond" instead of James, and he was a CIA agent, not on her majesty's secret service. The bad guy was Peter Lorre.
Nelson later starred on TV's My Favorite Wife. He also made a few dozen movies, including the original Airport, where Nelson was the pilot to Dean Martin's co-pilot. In his last movie, The Shining, Nelson played the manager of the Overlook Hotel, who hired Jack Nicholson as the inn's winter caretaker. Wife: Teresa Celli (b. 3-Jun-1924, div.)
