Brian Williams Born: 5-May-1959 Birthplace: Elmira, NY
Gender: Male Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Journalist Nationality: United States Executive summary: Exaggerating newscaster Brian Williams replaced Tom Brokaw as host of NBC Nightly News in 2004. GQ inexplicably called him "the most interesting man in television today". Appeared frequently on Don Imus in the Morning, and on television talk shows.
Often recounted the story of being in war-torn Iraq in 2003, riding in a helicopter that was hit by enemy fire and forced to land at great peril. Recanted this story in 2015, after military officers who had been present said that Williams' version of events was embellished and effectively untrue. Along with other exaggerated accounts, this got Williams suspended from NBC News, and transferred to the far lower-rated and less prestigious MSNBC.
"Let them bury the poor woman. They're making Trigger jokes out here." (Brian Williams accidentally caught on a microphone he thought was switched off, referring to the recent death of Dale Evans).
