His first wife, Charlotte Tiffany Mitchell, was a niece of famed jeweler Louis Comfort Tiffany, and her sister (Jeans' sister-in-law) was married to American Senator Hiram Bingham. Jeans' second wife, Susi Jeans, was a student of Charles-Marie Widor who became a well-regarded concert organist.
