[1] Based on US Census forms for 1900 and 1910. Although these are official documents, they may be incorrect. For his WWI draft registration, he gave a birthdate of 26 October 1894, but he also gave an incorrect location of birth, as Wortham, Texas. Various sources give dates for the birth of Blind Lemon between 1893 and 1897.
