Famous for an iconic 1936 photograph depicting the death of a loyalist, Federico Borrell García, during the Spanish Civil War, and for D-Day photographs taken during the first hours at Omaha Beach, published in Life magazine. He was the only photographer in the first landing wave. Sadly, because of a darkroom accident, only 11 of his D-Day images saw the light of day. Capa was killed in French Indochina after stepping on a landmine.
