Marv gave the Superman character "Lex Luthor" a new vitality, rescuing him from mediocrity. For DC Comics in the 1980s, he architected the influential Crisis on Infinite Earths series, as well as The New Teen Titans, a revival of the Silver Age Teen Titans (originally run from 1964-73). While at Marvel, he created in 1972 the new characters "Blade" and "Deacon Frost" for Tomb of Dracula. After these became the subject of the 1998 blockbuster hollywood film Blade, Wolfman sued (Marvin Wolfman v. Marvel Entertainment, New Line Cinema, et al.) for the rights, demanding $35 million in punitive damages. Marvel was unable to produce a work-for-hire contract, but the judge ruled the film sufficiently different from the comic book. Marvel thus prevailed. Wife: Noel Wolfman
