On 2 December 2004, The San Francisco Chronicle revealed Giambi's testimony that he used "undetectable" steroids for three seasons, and furthermore, those steroids were provided by Barry Bonds' personal trainer. He also admitted to injecting HGH, human growth hormone. The testimony was given for a case against Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative (BALCO).
