Hugh Hewitt Born: 22-Feb-1956 Birthplace: Warren, OH [1]
Gender: Male Religion: Christian Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Radio Personality, Columnist Party Affiliation: Republican Nationality: United States Executive summary: Conservative talk radio show In July 1990, as director of the not-yet-opened Nixon Presidential Library, Hewitt announced their admission policy: "Journalists will not be high on our priority list. [...] I don't think we'd ever open the doors to Bob Woodward. He's not a responsible journalist." Hewitt's ban was rescinded the very next day by Nixon's chief of staff.
Also rescinded was Hewitt's decision to allow Republican but not Democratic fundraisers at the facility. His stated rationale? "President Nixon's always been a Republican, he's always been partisan, he's always stood for certain things. [...] It would be far more of a taint to let the premises be used indiscriminately by groups who oppose everything he worked for."
