After his friend Tommy DeSimone was murdered, Hill sensed impending doom and went on the run, only to be captured by authorities. He entered witness protection in exchange for testimony, but his inability to retain his cover ended with his expulsion. Hill made occasional appearances on Howard Stern's radio program and is believed to have spent most of his post-Mob years on the West Coast. He died in 2012.
