The most successful reggae artist in South Africa, with 22 albums, actively performing and recording since 1982. Switching from mbaqanga music in 1985 (a move resisted by his producers), his second reggae album Think About The Children sold over 40,000 copies, rating platinum for that country. On 18 October 2007 Lucky was shot to death in front of his brother's Rosettenville house, in view of two of his teenage children. He was victim of an apparent carjacking. Four arrests were later made.
