During WWII, he captained the Visa Division at the US State Department, thwarting the entry into the United States of as many Jews as possible, as well as other East European refugees. From a direct result of Long's actions, countless thousands of lives were lost to the Holocaust. He is perhaps the greatest blight on that administration.
