Nick Cassavetes AKA Nicholas David Rowland Cassavetes Born: 21-May-1959 Birthplace: New York City
Gender: Male Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Actor Nationality: United States Executive summary: Assault of the Killer Bimbos Nick Cassavetes studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, and made his living for several years with straight-to-video erotic thrillers like Sins of Desire, Body of Influence, and Sins of the Night, not to mention Assault of the Killer Bimbos. Cassavetes has a lot of schlock on his résumé, but he's responsible for at least 2˝ movies his parents would be proud of: Unhook the Stars, She's So Lovely, and Blow (which he co-wrote).
As an actor, Cassavetes had a small role in Mask, and starred opposite Charlie Sheen in the science fiction farce The Wraith. His other films include Face/Off in 1997 and The Astronaut's Wife in 1999. Other than cameos, Cassavetes hasn't worked as an actor since, as his career behind the camera has kept him busy.
As a director, Cassavetes' first film was Unhook the Stars, starring his mother Gena Rowlands and Marisa Tomei. She's So Lovely was a labor of love, with a script by Cassavetes' dead father, and a strong performance by Sean Penn. Cassavetes' first big-budget movie was John Q in 2002; since then, Cassavetes has found steady work as a director, including the Alzheimer's tearjerker The Notebook.
