In the 1990s, Bannon was charged with domestic violence during his marriage with Mary Louise Piccard, though those charges were dismissed when she did not appear at court. According to later divorce papers, Bannon originally agreed to marriage with Piccard only after verification by a physician that the babies she was carrying were "normal."[1]
[1] Daniel Halper and Kelly Hartog, "Trump Campaign CEO Accused in Divorce Papers of Attacking Wife", New York Post, 25 August 2016: "Bannon made it clear that he would not marry me just because I was pregnant. I was scheduled for an amniocentesis and was told by the respondent that if the babies were normal we would get married."
