Trina AKA Katrina Le'verne Taylor Born: 3-Dec-1978 Birthplace: Miami, FL
Gender: Female Race or Ethnicity: Black Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Rapper Nationality: United States Executive summary: Diamond Princess Provided with a rough start to her life on the streets of Miami, Katrina Taylor grew up alongside her two siblings in the home of her mother and stepfather. While still attending school, her boyfriend "Hollywood" was accidentally killed by gunfire; it was later Hollywood's brother Trick Daddy that instigated Trina's entrance onto the rap scene, when he featured her on his 1998 album www.thug.com and it's associated single Nann Nigga. The feisty rapper's raunchy style quickly attracted a lot of attention, and the following year she secured a deal as a solo artist on the Slip-N-Slide label. Her sex-and-money saturated debut Da Baddest Bitch surfaced in 2000, featuring the popular track 69 Ways, and including performances by Trick Daddy, Twista and J-Shin.
Over the next couple years, Trina made a number of notable appearances on other performer's albums -- J-Shin's My Soul, My Life (2000), DJ Clue's Professional, part 2 (2000), Trick Daddy's Book Of Thugs (2000) and Thugs Are Us (2001), and Eve's Scorpion (2001) -- as well as contributions to remix tracks for Missy Elliott (One Minute Man) and Ludacris (What's Your Fantasy?). For her second release Diamond Princess (2002) Trina enlisted Elliott's services as producer, who brought a considerable roster of guest performers into the sessions -- Tweet, Fabolous, Ludacris, Eve and Missy herself amongst them. The raunch factor for the album, however, was not diminished in the least (a fact clearly established by the end of the profanely inventive "intro" track).
As has been the case with many rap stars, Trina was quick to use her popularity in the music industry as a means to branch out into other fields of commercial enterprise. In 2003 she launched both her own fashion and cosmetics line (DP Wear) and her own record label (Diva Enterprises), choosing child singer 'Lil Brianna (who had already appeared on the Diamond Princess track Kandi) as her first label signing. A third album, Glamorest Life, was issued in 2005, having been preceded by the single Big Ole Dick. Boyfriend: Hollywood (brother of Trick Daddy, d.) Boyfriend: C-Murder
