She was league MVP in 1979 and 1980. In 1980, Meyers was the first woman to sign with a NBA team, the Indiana Pacers, but she failed to make it past tryouts. In 1993, she was the first woman inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. After her playing career, she retired to sportscasting and team management.
