Computer system administrator turned terrorist, who caused trouble for Wisconsin in 1998-2001. His acts of terror included attacking the city's power grid. With the aid of people recruited off the Internet, he ignited buildings, disrupted transmission towers, disabled air traffic control software, and caused headaches for an Internet Service Provider. Police say he had evil plans for cyanide he had stashed in a closet in the Chicago subway station. Konopka was caught, pled to six federal charges and is presently serving time in prison. He told police that he caused the damage to power plants and radio towers because of a "sense of intellectual superiority" although in 2003 when sentenced he told the judge that he didn't have "a real good reason" for his crime spree.
