Stephanie March Born: 23-Jul-1974 Birthplace: Dallas, TX
Gender: Female Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Actor Nationality: United States Executive summary: Law & Order: SVU Stephanie March started acting in high school plays. She attended the same high school as Angie Harmon, who was a senior when March was a freshman. Both actresses eventually worked on the Law & Order juggernaut.
March was hired at her first professional audition, and played Helena, one of the female leads in a Chicago stage production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Roles kept coming, and in 1999 March went to New York to work on Broadway in a revival of Death of A Salesman with Brian Dennehy.
Beginning in 2000, she played the stubborn and smart prosecutor Alexandra Cabot on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2003 her character was shot and seemingly killed -- but that turned out to be a ruse. In reality, March wanted a film career, and in TV reality, her character was only injured, and then absorbed into the witness protection program. This allowed March to return in several guest appearances.
In the 2003 comedy Head of State, March played a "super whore" assigned to keep Presidential candidate Chris Rock satisfied. In the film's PG-13 defining moment, she lifted her shirt on the dance floor, while the words "crazy ass girl" were superimposed across her electronically-blurred breasts.
In 2004, March hosted What America Eats, a five-part TV series on Food Network on contemporary eating habits. In 2006 March returned to NBC, again playing Alexandra Cabot, in a new Law & Order drama titled Conviction, which was cancelled after one brief season.
